How It Works

Booking a Course

The website and booking system has been designed to make it as easy as possible for students and purchasers to use.

Personal Booking

If you are an individual student paying for your own course start with the GSAT Individual Booking 'BOOK NOW' button on the Home Page.

'Register' by entering the details requested. You must enter your name as it will appear on your airport access pass application, (i.e. your name as it is on your passport, this is the name that will be printed on your certificate), and a login name and password of your choice. As soon as you register you will receive by e-mail confirmation of your chosen login name and password.

Choose your method of payment. You can pay immediately by credit or debit card, or you can chose to pay by cheque or BACS. Either way we send you an invoice.

If you pay immediately online you will receive confirmation of payment from Protx (the secure payment gateway) and the system will allow you to 'begin training' right away. (see 'Taking the Course' below).

If you choose to pay by cheque or BACS the system will allow you to 'begin training' only when payment is cleared. You will receive confirmation from us by e-mail as soon as we receive your payment. You can then login and 'begin training' (See 'Taking the Course' below).

Sponsor Booking

If you are making a booking on behalf of another, or others, i.e. you are an administrator, proprietor or representative of an organisation wishing to book one or more students, start with GSAT Sponsor Booking 'BOOK NOW' button on the Home page.

'Register' by entering the details requested. As soon as you register you will receive by e-mail confirmation of your chosen login name and password.

Choose 'Purchase Codes' and enter the number of courses you wish to buy and the method of payment. We do not need details of the students at this stage.

You can pay immediately by credit or debit card, or you can chose to pay by cheque or BACS. either way we send you an invoice.

If you pay by credit or debit card you you will receive confirmation of payment from Protx (the secure payment gateway) and you will be able to enter student's names immediately.

If you choose to pay by cheque or BACS the system will allow you to enter student's names only when payment has been received. You will receive confirmation from us by e-mail as soon as we receive your payment. You will also receive your payment confirmation immediately if you are a listed credit customer of CD Media Training.

You can then login and enter student names. For each name you enter we will send to the student (or to you, you choose the e-mail address), a Student Access Code. The student will need this code when logging in for the first time.

You can allocate as many students at a time as you wish up to the total number of courses you have purchased. The system keeps a tally of the number of purchased courses allocated to students so you will always know how many remain available to allocate.

When you allocate a student to a course we send a Student Access Code for each student to the e-mail address you provide us. This can either be your address or the student's.

You will have your own admin area which you can enter at any time by logging in with your login code.

In your admin area you can allocate students to courses, monitor the progress of the students you have entered, see how many courses are still available for allocation, and you can buy further courses when required.

If, as a sponsor, you are also going to be a student, just allocate yourself as you would another student but when you register as a student use a different login name and password.

Taking the Course

Individual Student
Use the LOGIN button and enter your username and password. You are taken to your home page where you can choose to 'Begin Course Now'. This will take you to a further page where you can control how you take the course. There are buttons for each of the five course sections and buttons for the 'Glossary', 'Crib Sheet', and 'Final Exam'

Start the course with Module1 Part 1, and follow with the other sections in your own pace. You can stop any section at any time, and can repeat the section and the associated pre-assessment test as often as you like.

You can pause the film at any time, or re-run to any point, to clarify a teaching point, re-read a statement, or see an illustration again.

You may leave the course at any time by logging out, and you can return at any time by logging in again, resuming from where you left off or starting again from the beginning.

You can do trial tests at the end of each section.

You must take and pass the final test, when you are ready, at the end to get your certificate. See 'Testing' below.

Sponsored Student
If you are a sponsored student (i.e. you have been nominated for the course by someone else) you will receive a notification, either directly from us by e-mail, or by an agreed means from your sponsor. This notification will contain your Student Access Code. Login on the home page, and then choose the 'Register as a Sponsored Student' button. This will take you to the Student Registration page. Enter the required details. You must enter your name as it will appear on your airport access pass application, (i.e. your name as it is on your passport. this is the name that will be printed on your certificate), and a login name and password of your choice.

You are taken to the 'payment' page, and here you choose the 'sponsored student' option and enter your Student Access Code. In future, when you log in again, you log in the direct way with your Login Name and Password.

You are taken to a menu where you can choose to 'Begin Course Now'. You are then taken to a menu showing the five course sections and buttons for the 'Glossary', 'Crib Sheet', and 'Final Exam'

You can do trial tests at the end of each section.

You must take and pass the final test, when you are ready, at the end to get your certificate. See 'Testing' below.

Testing

At the end of each of the five separate video sections you will have the option to take a pre-assessment test. This test is simply a few questions from the main exam to check you have assimilated the learning point in that section.

At the end of the course, there is a multiple choice test which you have to pass to receive your certificate. You will need this certificate as part of your application or re-application for an airport pass.

All questions are randomly selected by the system from a question bank

If you do not pass the test first time you may retake the test one more time only, so please take the time to go through the course again as often as you need before taking your final test.

Your Certificate

When you pass the test you may print off your certificate. Make sure your printer is on line and loaded with suitable paper before you press the 'print' button.

Payments

You may pay online, by credit or debit card, or later by cheque or BACS. Either way you will receive an invoice, as either an individual or as a business.

If you have a credit agreement with us we will issue access codes as soon as we receive your booking.
